Local church cake maker honoured by LFB Commisioner

Taking your Church into the local community

On the 26th February Hazel Scrivener of Kingsheart Church was presented with a special letter of thanks from Dany Cotton Comissioner of the London Fire Brigade for her kindness and diligence in providing cakes to the firefighters at Petits Lane Fire Station.

For the past 18 Months Hazel has visitied every watch, every week, with home made cakes, as a gesture of appreciation from Kingsheart Church to thank them for all the work they do in the community. which has been received with much appreciation; so much so, other watches, from firestations throughout the borough who regularly work out of Petits Lane firestation, have shown much interest in having visits from churches, local to their firestations. Churches local to Hainault and Wennington & Rainham have taken up the baton and have been surprised and excited by the reception they have received.

Could this be something you and your Church could prayerfully consider, Harold Hill, Hornchurch and Ilford have all expressed an interest and willingness to receive the church into their workplace. As Borough Commander Barry Hobbs has said "London Fire Brigade in Havering is an important part of the community and your kindness does make the Firefighters feel they are an integral part of the borough we serve"
